Sound Advice?

My actor has some animation, a few sound, I have worked out a 'tap zone', and there could be 3 - 4 instances on the stage at one time.

On a 3g the app is sluggish, on the 3gs it is fine.

I have read the wiki optimizing suggestions, and applied, but I am looking for some more.

1. Is there any speed advantage to taking the sounds out of the actor and dedicating that function to a 'sound actor' that waits for a game attribute change.

2. is there any speed advantage to disconnecting the actor from the prototype
