Do I really need a www.myname.com ?

I remember when I started out that Apple somehow requested that you have a website and when you get your profiles you use com.yourname.yourgame. I don't see much use for my own website. Do I need one?
Thanks

The com.gjvfryji.hgsdfcv can be whatever you want it to be. It's not attached to a website.

A website is useful for game support and getting feedback from users. Apple also asks that you provide a support website, though I'm not sure if they require it.

the reverse url convention is only a unique indentifier.
so the com.yourname.yourgame is the suggested convention so that you will be able to tell your certificates and profiles apart within xcode, the provisioning portal and so on.

The "suggestion" that you have a website is because apple likes a publicly accessible privacy policy and support site for apps on the store.

    The 2 are unconnected.
