This is what I was hollering about last week. They are going to see an increase in cash flow. Business model flexibility and increased accessibility for broke devs like me. Lol

    At the same time, people are clamoring about the Creative Cloud costs and the inability of consumers to be able to purchase a single software license to use forever.

    Some models work great for some people, some don't. But that's great if it makes game development easier for you. :)

    It's a good thing. Unity is moving and evolving fast. It's a solid 3d engine/sdk that can produce AAA level games. There is a recent post they have about unity and devs/studios that use it primarily for 2d games and they talked about their workflows, challenges etc. Interesting for those considering unity for 2d.

    They will certainly rake in more cash with this new monthly model. I can see how it will cause new satisfaction issues, but the extra revenue means more $ pumped into Unity R&D.

    @tatiang no doubt. You can't always please everyone, but having options is nice. I mean hell, with GameSalad, your only renting it for a year anyways even if you go pro. I am simply taking note of payment options here really. The whole debate of of renting versus owning is a separate issue. ;)

    @artfish
    Yeah, I agree with having options being nice...wouldn't it be great if GS had a (more expensive) permanent pro membership?? That'd be great! :D
