Can I make an interactive DnD character sheet?

Hello all,

I'm trying to create an interactive character sheet for my friends and I to use in DnD. Up until now, I've been using iWork's Numbers. While nice, it has many limitations.

For example, every time I add a new weapon/armor, I need to go to several different points on the spreadsheet to make it all work cohesively. This is something I would like to replace with a "new item" button that just lets me add all the attributes once and for all.

Basically the features I would like are as follows:

  • A few basic calculators/adding machines
  • The ability to input text/numbers
  • Spreadsheet-like features (i.e. calling to another part of the document)

I'm hoping that I can use flash to make up for the features that I could not get with Numbers. However, I'm new to flash and GameSalad so I wanted to come here before I tried anything.

Basically, what I'm asking is, is this even feasible? And, if so, can anyone give me a few pointers?

A quick (and admittedly unprofessional) look at what it does now can be seen in an old video on my tumblr: here

Thanks

Yes it is possible. I started making one until I stopped playing DnD. And it was more along the 3.5 ruleset instead of 4.0.
I did a lot of custom excel hacking of HeroForge a while ago, so it was relatively easy to know what modifications stack and such.
