Scene Question

Hi Guys,

Looking for some tips. If you were creating a game that requires many similar levels, let's say like Angry Birds or Candy Crush... would you use a new scene for each level, or have one scene which places new actors in different positions depending on the level number? My initial thoughts are to use a new scene for each level so you can easily see how each level is setup - specifically if new levels introduce new features and change of scenery etc. but wasn't sure if there were major files size or memory gains by using just one scene?

Thanks in advance!

A lot of games that I have seen put them in different scenes. It makes little difference. The major reason for many scenes, however, is so that you can use a level select. That way you can immediately link it directly to whatever level you want, instead of having to get a possible long loading time and finding the correct level. So overall, just stick with many scenes. Although more usually may seem like a larger lag, in this case, it really is just a pain in the butt to do otherwise, and the difference you get may be unnoticeable or not worth it.
