Persistent Crashing on Mac

Gamesalad on OSX 10.8.3 is approaching a state of not usable. Normally when programming with GS, I have Photoshop, Cheetah and maybe Anime Studio running at the same time. Even with all of that turned of and nothing else running, this platform is unreliable. I literally have to save after every single transaction because I have no idea which click on what actor or scene is going to crash the App. Luckily it does not crash the entire system, yet. This has got to be fixable.

    Try just saving your project and restarting GS. That should help some, not sure what else would do it though. Maybe somebody else would....

    Ahh it doesn't crash the entire system because that is almost impossible on OSx as it uses protected memory threads. All programs that crash are isolated from the system.

    I've started seeing this on a persistent basis as well. More along the lines of, i have to save after every change i do at, because it will crash at any time. The most i've had running at the same time is Gimp. Interested if you've come across a fix?

    I never said that it crashed the entire system (too much bacon). GS itself crashes though. No fix yet though. I simply save after every change. I usually get a crash after I have altered an attribute and then try to switch back to a scene. I also get a crash when I try to add a new actor via drag 'n drop. It is of course not every time, but so far that is the only patterns that I have noticed.

    Oh come on you did say. "Luckily it doesn't crash the entire system, yet." Yet would imply it can would it not? One has to remember there are many novice users on these forums and misinformation spreads like the plague around here. The veterans have to spend time undoing all this misinformation. So when I see a post like that I try an inform people properly.

    @Cybergei

    Yes, this is one of the annoyances I've come to accept with GS. I find it's pretty much guaranteed that GS will crash within a couple hours of opening a project.

    The best preventative measure is when you feel in-app sluggishness, save your project, then quit and relaunch GS.
