What happened to native engine?

I'm a bit confused on the native engine status. Is it still being pursued? While @codewizard has been doing an excellent job informing us about the development, I have a few concerns.

Even with all the "improvements", the lua engine is way way way slower than the native engine. Why is the team working on the lua engine after it's proven that the native engine is just so much better. I mean, look at the comparing video. Even if the lua engine was 50% faster, it wouldn't be close to the native engine. It seems like GS has taken a step back with the engine.

I thought we wouldnt be able to have plygon collisions unless we had the native engine? I would like to be abe to have more collisions than squares and circles.

Lua is exceptionally fast, I've been using corona for 2 years for enterprise apps, IMHO it would be better to stick with Lua just with some optimisations and if we could input LUA into the creator....

@utpimistik Should be sent The GameSalad courts for the above product placement ;)
