iOS 7 Beta iOS Viewer

Hi GameSalad,

I am trying to make an app and now I want to test it. I have encountered one problem though, I have recently updated my iPhone to iOS 7 Beta and Xcode isn't recognising it at a valid iOS version. Can I put it on the viewer?

Nope. Never install iOS beta software. So you're stuck unless you can reinstall iOS 6.

I believe there is a new version of Xcode available to support iOS7, so you'll have to grab that too.

It's worth noting another 2 things:

a) GS Viewer apparently does work 'ok' in iOS7, but any Game Center integration will crash the game/stop it running
b) You *can* downgrade back to iOS6, even though the developer center states you cant. There are plenty of easy tutorials on this if you google 'downgrade iOS7 beta' - you just need the image of iOS 6.x and restore with that. You will lose any backups, but you lost that going to 7 anyway. I'm obviously not taking any responsibility if you brick your device though It can be done if done correctly.


(Also, I don't agree that you should 'never install beta' software, as the whole point of beta is that developers need to test and develop for it. What you shouldn't do is install beta software on your *only* device. If no one installed the beta because it might not work well, it would be very difficult to release updates and there would be very few apps that took advantage of new features/style at launch!)

Well I agree with that but most developers on GS are more glorified hobbyists and many barely have more than one device. Those who know what they are doing realize that you can do what you suggest. I try to stay away from saying things like that on this forum.

Thanks guys @FryingBaconStudios and @allornothing. I know how to downgrade if I want to go back and I just thought it would be a good idea to upgrade. Thanks again!
