How do you make music keep playing when sound effects play?

I am trying to play music in my game, but when ever the player dies or completes the level, the music stops to play the sound effect. Is there a way to make more than one sound play at the same time, so it will keep playing without stopping when a sound effect plays? All music and sound effects were recorded using the iOS version of GarageBand, with the "Arcade Synth" keyboard.

It sounds like you're using the "sound" behavior instead of the music behavior. When you trigger another sound to be played, it will stop the music. Delete your music file, and then insert your music file again and make sure you check "Music" instead of sound. Then drag that file into an actor and it will automatically create a Play Music behavior.

@Braydon_SFX: I don't understand what you mean exactly. All music and sound effects are saved as "Play music" behaviors.

Not necessarily. When you import .wav files, GameSalad had a pop up that asks you if you'd like to import the file as a sound file, or music file. You'd want a music file. If you're sound effects are music files, that's no good. And visa versa.

@Braydon_SFX: Is there a way to convert my sound effect music files into sound files?

Delete all of the sounds/music in your GameSalad project. Then re-import them one by one. Make sure that the file you want to be your music is imported as "Music File" rather than "Sound File". All sound effects should be imported as sound files.

@Braydon_SFX: So all I have to do is select my sound effect, saved as an MP4, but just select "Sound file" rather than music file when importing into GameSalad, and it will be a sound file? It dosen't need to be a different file format before importing it into GameSalad?

As long as the pop up shows up, no. Just choose accordingly. :)
