Monetizing Children, The Game - MolyJam 2013

image

So Molyjam 2013 has finished now. This is a 48 hour, global game jam based on the musings of famous game designer Peter Molyneux and his spoof nemesis Molydeux.

I went to the London event and made a team with a fellow London Indie Darren Grey and Freddie Fosh kindly did the art.
I did co-design, writing and music.

We made a satirical game called 'Monetizing Children'. I'm sure you'll all get the jokes :)

It's for PC, Mac and Linux and you can download here: http://www.molyjam.com/games/169

Was cool to see Gamasutra included it in their round up of the jam.

If you have a go, play with the sound on :)

Sadly, you could probably build an app so blatantly centered around monetizing the user, to the point of telling them you are doing it, and they would still play and pay it....*sigh

I think that would be a funny game idea. An npc that explains all of the 'magician's secrets' as you play.
