Hi,
I've just finished porting over 'CRAB-MAN' for my son, and as promised I've uploaded it as a template for all to see, use and abuse :-D.

It's a Pac-Man style game, only your a Crab! and there's no Ghosts just Jellyfish!

It shows the basics of:
- Joystick Controls.
- Lives (tracking).
- Power Ups
- Basic AI for the Jellyfish.
- Scene changes
- Basic Sound effects
- Scoring
- etc etc...

Anyways, I've only done Level one for him, he (and you) can all do the rest.

Enjoy.. :-)

you know what would be a great improvement for the game?
I tried doing this but i just couldnt manage:
can anybody get an actor to go ONLY up down left right? without other directions? (only 0° 90° 180° 270°)

    Hi Giacomopoppi.
The Code to handle constrained angles is kinda already in there.

    Give me 10 mins - I'll upload a 'constrained' angle version :-)

OK Giacomopoppi, the Constrained Angle version should be available in the GS Templates List.

Basically, I have four actors (0, 90, 180, 270) positioned around the main joystick. When the Centre Joystick Actor touches one of them, a Game.Variable is set, which in turn the Crab Character uses to determine the direction to move. Simples :-)
