Question about app store specific and TOP free and paid

What will happen, if game who is free now , i will change it to paid version and put out update. I know it will lost positions in appstore free app charts, but if all old users will upgrade my app is this will count like sells and lift my app in top paid charts?

    pretty sure, or else everyone would do this. There is a site I have been in contact with called freeappaday.com and they talk about how giving your app away for free for one day puts ou up higher in the charts because of actual paid sales AFTER the free day is over. They don't say anything about the 1000s of free DLs doing anything to your paid chart position and obviously they would use this to market their site if it were the case. So I don't think it will help your rank.
