ok a bit confused about What size to make my Background

i searched it and didnt find a straight answer.

OK so i am making my Background for my game in illustrator. so when i make my art board should it be the iphone 5 size 1136 x 640 px?

and does it matter if i get it in the game and adjust it?

also when i started the new project, was iphone legacy the right choice.

sorry for the newb questions. I'm trying to play with gamesalad a bit before i continue to read more because its easier to understand that way.

btw is there and easy way to center your scene/actor you put on the scene is what i mean.

thanks a bunch everyone.

    iPhone5 = 1136 x 640

    There's nothing to prevent you adjusting the image within GameSalad, but you will almost certainly lose some quality - it's best to make your images at the size you want to use them.

    For an iPhone 5 you want iPhone + check 'Resolution Independence'.

    There is nothing like a snap to grid / snap to centre kind of deal, you need to throw your actor into the scene, then double click on it to show its attributes (in the lefthand side attributes panel) - from there you can enter a precise location for the actor.

    Whatever your target size is for your project, just make it that size in illustrator (if its ipad, make the artboard ipad size. If it's iphone 5, make it iphone 5 size). I try and work bigger because its always easier to shrink things down than blow them up (when you blow them up, the images will get distorted).

    Also- when making your images (say a character image) make sure the graphic is divisible by 2 AND is an even number after you divide it by 2.

    iPhone legacy is for older iphone resolution and not the iphone 5. I hope this helps you out and good luck!
