Make sure to check resolution independence!

@ngames ....actually now that i look at the image size when i drag it into the white actor box. its not even the right size. i made it in illustrator 1136x640...when i check the size in game salad its 1024x576... and guess on why that is?

Just increase the size of the actor to the correct size.

Just increase the size of the actor to the correct size.
but the correct size isnt fitting the screen. when i correct the actor size. it shows up twice the size when place in the scene.

ok so i cut the size 1036x640 to 518x320 in game salad and it fits perfect now. but i was told to do my artwork 1036x640...so which on is it? i dont want to do this whole game the wrong size so im trying to figure this out before i do anything else. thanks

Hey mate, make the art full size in illustrator (1136x640), you can just change the size to 518x320 in Game Salad (double click on the actor and change its dimensions). That way it will still be high resolution on newer phones. The resolution independence should sort it out based on the device. Just make sure all your art is exactly double what you want it to be in the viewer (and divisible by 4) or it will be blurry.

@asobu_games thank you so much for the response. just to be clear. im suppose to cut the actors down to size in game salad? and what is the Viewer? where your images are kept?
  • VolontaArtsVolontaArts Member Posts: 510
@ngames ok i will for the future. but to clear this, so when im testing my game (aka hitting play) everything should be twice as big? basically outside of the border lines?

@NGames i just saw someone had the same problem and it was because i have to have the new mountain lion installed for game salad to do its automatic shrink when res ind. is checked -,-

and yea it was ridiculous but i completely understand now thanks to your help.
