Walking stairs

Hi,

I just started the platform demo and thought about what would happen if I'd rotate one platform, so it would look like a stair.
Of course the character slided down the platform. But I'd like to see the same behaviour as if the platform would be even. So you can walk up or down the stairs with left/right keys and the actor stands idle when nothing happens instead of sliding down.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your support!

Maybe this tutorial might help get you started on the right path to figuring this out.

I have not tried this yet but it could just work with a few adjustments.

Thanks, I already knew that tutorial. At the moment I don't really know if this is the way to go, but I look into it once again.
I mean, it's basically like this: no matter to what degree the platform (stair) is rotated, the actor should walk up and down with the same keys (and speed) as he would walk left or right.
Seems to be pretty tough. :-/

Same issue here. I'm just building my assets right now but the sliding problem is still getting me. I added the friction at 20 and it won't move going up a hill.

The ball rolling setup doesn't do what we're needing. Trying to constrain attributes as the person goes up or down a ramp but I'm still debugging. If I get a good solution I'll take a screen shot and post it.
