Photics: Toolbox

Apparently, GameSalad is not just for Games. I used it to create the Photics: Toolbox... and I think it's awesome. The Photics: Toolbox is a collection of six utilities -- for the price of one!

It has a Ruler, a stopwatch, a chalkboard, a lightbox, a level and a tally counter. By using GameSalad, I was able to create some realistic effects. For example, it's a little freaky to hear my iPod Touch ticking like a real stopwatch. With the GameSalad Physics engine, I was able to make the level move more smoothly. With the tally counter, the numbers move fantastically -- quite similar to a real tally counter.

The iPad version was released today...

    I see a lot of people just posting the promo codes on this website, but I'm not sure if that's Apple's intention with Promo Codes.

    WOW... the Photics: Toolbox loads much faster now. I think it's because of the 0.8.7 upgrade. I'm not sure, but iOS 4 might be involved too. Instead of like 15-20 seconds, it's like 3 seconds!

    I've been thinking about adding a pedometer next to the Photics: Toolbox... but I have so many other projects to work on too.

    An all in one app. Mine wasn't going to be as useful though, more of a collection of the crappy apps that came out at the beginning of the AppStore, like a fart machine, flashlight (although these are pretty useful), drum kit. Was gonna call it crAPPS. lol. Have decided though to stick to games... it's what I like doing and I'm creating stuff I would buy, so hopefully someone else will too!

    Wow... that's funny!

    Did you put a placeholder in iTunes Connect, to reserve the name? I think that's a good idea and I don't think that the Photics: Toolbox is a reason to walk away from it. These are two different projects. Naturally, I have no plans to buy crAPPS, but I think there are some people out there that would purchase an app based on a funny name.

    Although, I'm not sure if Apple would approve the name.

    Yeah, Apple probably wouldn't. I just can't be bothered... I made Prankstar thinking it would do well because it's funny but people want value for money... my silly little apps don't give that so concentrating on my first "proper" game. Should be submitted at the end of the week. I made Prankstar free, too and might place an ad for the game in there somewhere... even though I hate ads. lol.
