Doodle Kicks on the App Store

Apple approved my first GameSalad game last night! It's free, called Doodle Kicks, and is a simple doodle styled keep it up game.
I'd like to thank my 6 year old niece for drawing all of the graphics, but I don't have one! They're all mine sadly.

I'm not going to pretend that the game is amazing and that it should have a big following, as it it just a keep it up game! Nothing original, and nothing exciting. But do you find that most of your games start off slow like this?
I considered adding in an in 1 in app purchase to remove ads and throw in an extra set of balls but will probably add the extra balls for free in the next version or two.
How do you overcome feeling deflated from the dismal numbers and move on to the next one? Any tips? Do you stop looking at the counts and iad reports and just let it be?
But if you look at it as, 400 people around the world have played or are playing your game then that should put a smile on your face. Somewhere in the world someone is enjoying the game and to them it may be the best game in the world.
Hope it picks up for you
I am quite pleased with 400 odd people downloading it, although looking at the score boards most of them probably deleted it after their first game. There are however a small handful of people that seem to have played it several times so that's promising. Not given up on it yet, I have at least another 1 or 2 updates I'd like to release.
I think I'm more disappointed with the ads, and I don't think looking at the numbers each day is helping.
Was just wondering if most people here find the same when they launch their games, at least in the first week or so. How many of you control how often you look at the results, i.e. limit yourselves to only looking once a week, or once a month?
I do have a slightly more original idea for the next one, well it's really a mish-mash of at least two board games I really enjoy playing and a film. Hopefully it doesn't get too complicated while working on it.
