Could you trigger the ball to move after running a timer during the golfer animation? That's how I'm planning on doing it.

    Wow.
First welcome to the GameSalad forums :)
Secondly this is a big question. Even I don't know where to start cause here is why:

    1. What type of controls are involved with the "golf" are they automatic, controlled by keyboard, virtual buttons?
    2. What view are doing this from? Side view or birds eye view, or other (please state)?
    3. Without the above start questions answered i am afraid your properly wont get much help.

As for directing to a right area, I would so visit the cookbook, or GShelper.com ect.
I think you need to play round with demos, then come up with more small but detailed questions?

Hi all, thanks for responding and the welcome.

It will be a side view so when the actor hits the ball it goes across the screen. I was think of a button which the user would hold down and a power meter to display the strength of the hit say 1 to 10. The golf actor would start his back swing and stop when the power button is let go and then he would hit the ball.
