Make money with offers for your games!

Hey Gamesalad Community,

There's a new site that launch recently that allows you to monetize your game content. For example, If you want a player to unlock a virtual item in your game without them paying but instead giving them an offer to sign up. This could be an email submit or survey promotion.

Most offers convert by simply a user submitting an email, most pay $.50 to $1.60 each submit.

It's probably just silly old me, but this sounds horrible :(

It's like bribing people to unlock content.

    I'd rather pay!

I would caution that anyone who has been on the internet a while will be extremely wary of such "incentives". Find me one person who won their free Xbox from filling out surveys :D These things rarely pay. I'd need to be certain of the site's legitimacy before either implementing it in a game or filling out a single survey as a player of someone else's game. I wouldn't be surprised if putting something like this in your game would bring in negative reviews -even if it is legit. (And to be completely honest your referral link immediately makes me question your motives posting this :P) I can definitely see it being a good option for some people though, so thanks for the link! :)

I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up a common thing for a lot of apps. Advertisers are always looking for new ways to research customer opinion and to be honest it isn't shocking they should try this model. For me I would prefer to just pay for the content rather than have my details on yet another database but I think I'm the minority when you see how so called "free-to-play" games are so dominant on the app store. If people like your game and they can get content for free then these sort of methods are fair play!

I quite like how Candy Crush offers each set of new levels by giving the player the option to pay another 69p or provide a facebook share. For the developer it's win-win... you either get paid or you gain free advertising! This is a much better model than doing a survey for some company you don't know for the chance of winning some prize that probably doesn't exist.

Closing this, it looks like spam especially since everyone knows we are at the mercy of GS for new features :)
