How Do I Use Accelerate To Control An Actor?

Hi, I'm working on a new game and need help, I have set the main actor to move automatically using accelerate and I would like him to stop moving once the screen is pushed, then continue moving once the screen is no longer pushed, how do I do this? - Hunter Afia

You would just put your accelerate in the otherwise part of a mouse button down rule. Then you might need to ad something to the main part of the rule to make it stop if you want.

@KevinCross Thanks but will this work if you touch the screen? I want to only touch the screen then he will stop moving, I don't want to have to touch the actor.

Try putting a rule on your character "if touch is outside". Or a "touch is pressed" rule on a background picture actor, or an invisible actor that covers the screen.

Touch and mouse are interchangeable in GameSalad. For example touch is press will be the exact same as mouse is clicked directly on an actor.
