In terms of sound and GS games, do you prefer a slider to adjust sound levels or on/off button?
Also, do you prefer to be able to turn off both music and sound effects? or just turn off the sound all at once?

That may not be important for all games, but personally I like to use music a lot, so I happen to think it's important that players can set the levels that they like.
Sound effects can be great a great signifier. Though I include visual cues too, players may prefer to have the sound effects slightly higher in volume than music, so they can hear the audio cues that mean something's been triggered.
Having a single button for music AND sound effects wouldn't work for most of my games I feel. Your mileage may vary of course!
