Can real pictures from computer be imported to become game background?

Hey all, total newbie here. Before I start trying to learn GS, I need to know if it can do this. I want to create a game with lots of real images in it, images that I take with my camera. Can I upload those to my computer and import them into GS for use in my game? Thanks!

Yes you can. Pictures and art graphics generally share a lot of the same file types.

I suggest you resize them before you put them in though. Pictures off your camera will import in at around 2000x1000 or larger. If you put that in your GS game it will cause big problems.

Ok, will do. I assume it should be 1024 pixels at the largest. I think I read that somewhere about importing graphics.

Thats the old standard, 2048x2048 is the max now. Really only needed for ipad retina, at that size and should be usedd sparingly.
