Is anyone else holding out for the New Macbook Pro?

I have had some money burning a hole in my pocket now for quite a while in the anticipation of the new Macbook pro and was wondering if there is anyone else out there in the same boat?

Do you think it will actually make any difference for using Gamesalad as i'm currently using a 2012 Macbook Air and it seems alright despite having to save my project every 5 minutes through fear of Gamesalad crashing?

I've heard there maybe issues with the retina display and GS but i'm hoping that's a thing of the past now

ive had a retina mac since they came out and GS works perfectly. there were some issues with images at first, but those have been fixed (and was really a non issue since there was an extremely simple work around).

I'm waiting for new retinas, i want to sell this one and get one with more storage. With 2 virtuals, a 10GB dropbox and Starcraft II installed, I'm under 10GB free most of the time :)

Excellent that's really encouraging to hear

I'm a little worried there will be a queue around the block in two weeks time when it's released

I got a new Air in very late 2012 - maxed out with the best i7 8GB Ram and 512GB storage - it was a lemon - 2 complete logic board replacements so I kept my 2010 Air and run both now - just in case something goes really wrong with either I have a backup. I use the newer one now which has bootcamp on it too. So good for work and play :) Runs GameSalad fine - no fan spinning up ever and it's more stable. Not really interested in upgrading at the moment tho - we shall see how they pan out tho - retina Air would be good :D

You can tell when GameSalad is getting twitchy too as you will set a variable and it will not change. That is time to close it down and restart.

@Ali_Wood, I understand where your coming from. I am waiting as well. I am going to wait until it comes out. I currently have an early 2008 MacBook Pro. It runs great but for the amount of things I have running it starts slowing and I have to reset it about once to twice a week so I definitely can't wait to get a new one! You will notice quite a performance difference with the MacBook Pro compared to the Air. The new MacBook Pro wont make a difference with just running CameSalad. Where it will make a difference and help out is when you have about 20 different things running at the same time. LOL For instance, when I am working and developing I am running GameSalad, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash, Keychain Access, Xcode, iTunes, Skype, GarageBand, Protools, tons of tabs in my web browser and maybe a few other things. LOL By the way, that is a good habit you have created to save every 5 min. You should be doing that anyways with anything you are working on just to be on the safe side because you never know when something is gonna happen. Saving is one of the biggest things I can't stress enough to people. Also, if they launch a new MacBook Pro without Retina I would go with that and save the extra $400.00 because the Retina is not needed for what your doing and you could use that extra $400.00 if you needed to get, say PRO licensing or other things for development. Just a thought. :p Well good luck on the decision you make!

I grew up on Mac in the 90s and on OS9 and I save every 30 seconds from force of habit lol - ah the days of complete system crashes. Glad they are gone!

I can't seem to work at the same speed on my mac book pro as my iMac (maybe because i spend 8-10 hours a day on iMac and 1-2 on Mac Book? lol) so count me out for any advice :)

I'm the complete opposite! Every time I switch on my iMac I get nothing done and want to get off of it quickly, where as on my MacBook Pro I'm fine and can spend all day on it.

Not sure what it is, it just doesn't feel as comfortable to use, even after buying an official trackpad for it. They're both on the same desk too.

It's a shame as it's a much bigger screen/resolution then my MacBook. I've rarely used it since buying a MacBook a couple of years back :(
