Hi Everyone!

I'm new to gamesalad and I was wondering if someone could send me a template or detailed instructions on how to change my IPAD Landscape game to a universal game. I'm aware there are videos on youtube on such but I've literally tried them all and I feel like I'm missing a step.

Also If there is another way to be able to play my legacy iphone game on 5, 4s and 4 in the same project that would help too.

Thank you for your help!

Until GS comes out with a GS created that does this automatically...all of us non gurus are pretty much screwed...Sure I can buy and download the UB project file...which I have...but then you have to rebuild your entire project based around that template...forget using any thing else from the GS free templates...like the thumbstick control...you can't merge projects...it all sucks until we learn what the heck they are doing...I have even literally gone through and tediously entered every single attribute and mirrored everything in the template and it just doesn't work for me either....I noticed this thread under unanswered...my three posts remain...unanswered...to my liking anyways...I do appreciate their input and help...it just doesn't for me either.

@ictc They are working on a stretch mode, which could take the work out of it, but you will have wretched/distorted images. If you start thinking deeply about what you have, you will realize that your aspect ratios are completely different. Once you start realizing that work is involved for a universal build, you realize that there is no silver bullet and there never can be. To have the least amount of work, you need to plan to build for a universal app from the beginning. This could involve rules that move your hud dependent on device screen size, changing camera size and position, etc. There's quite a few different ways to approach a universal build and it's going to be dependent on your project.

Also, if you need to merge scenes or projects, you do have this http://www.deepblueapps.com/gs-project-merger/

Remember, learning game to make games is work, whether you're coding native or using a framework like GS. Making them is work. If you put in the time, you will get there. Good luck!

I would recommend using the default method for now as seen in all our latest templates.

You lose a little of the scene more noticeable on iPhone 5 (see pic below) but its the easiest way to get your iPad project into a universal with only a simple rule needed to detect the device width so you can move any HUD actors up or down.
