The difference in profit is due to the way daily and financial reports are recorded by Apple. Daily reports record downloads as they happen, while financial reports record credit card transactions as they clear.
The rankings section is actually quite addicting and the most up to the minute out there. I find myself checking even while i am out at dinner! no joke, cant help myself.
Also i hate to be the one to bring this up, but I've heard piracy can cause some inconsistencies. Apparently the way some folks go about things can cause inconsistencies with units download vs units actually sold.
To anyone who has recieved a payment already: Did you get the amount htat was displayed in appfigures, appannie, etc, or from the itunesconnect sales reports? Im asking because i should get my payment this month and just looked into itunesconnect and the sales looked way off from what i saw in appfigures
Yes, sales reports are different than financial reports, financial reported reflect the final amount you received while sales reports are an estimate, and don't reflect accurate or completed transactions, so sales reports can be somewhat inflated
All the websites like appfigures and all the rest pull all of their data from iTunes Connect.
iTunes Connect Sales and Trend data has a bunch of stuff in there that is inflated.
For example, If people download an app to their iPad and also to their iPhone it counts as two "sales", when it's really only one. You have to subtract out "type 7" downloads to account for that.
Plus there are refunds, credit card fraud or problems that didn't clear properly.
Apple's month is not the same as a calendar month. Plus there are two reporting systems counting all the data and apparently they are a few days out of sync with each other.
If you don't get paid all of the money this month, it will carry over to the next.
