Is display text alignment broken?

Yes it is aligning to the left of the actor boundary, but as you can see the text itself is actually centred.

I'm using Creator 0.10.4 and this is really BUGging me.

Hi @Doguz That's odd... I guess you're on a PC? I've duplicated your Display Text with an integer game attribute and there's no problem on the Mac...

If you are on a PC, it surely has got to be a bug.

Although you're certain the Display Text behaviour is in the white actor and not in an invisible actor on top and to the left? (Sorry, had to ask!!)

No I'm a mac. I've since found a couple of threads talking about this. Appears to be a long standing bug, that the display text is always centred. the alignment only applys to it's position in the actor.

Curious though that your test didn't show this. Maybe because your text was more than 3 characters to start with. Try a score attribute that starts with 0, then add to it. You'll see that it centres on the point of the edge.

OK, I'll try that sometime later today, see if I can duplicate the problem then.

Btw, I should have guessed you were using a Mac because of the style of type & graphics of the Display Text... silly me!

For interest, @Doguz, what Mac OS are you using? I'm wondering if that has something to do with it...

I would be staggered to see this an OS problem. I'm running Mountain Lion (10.8.5).
Please do the test yourself and post screen shot.

I'm not hopeful of a fix, and have gone with a text centred option, as this is the only choice, without doing a custom image font solution.

I'll certainly post a screenshot for you later on... but for the record, I'm still on Lion... so there's a tiny chance it's the iOS but as you implied, it'd be most surprising if it was that... OK, back later... :-)
