when i upload character graphic into library then into game it still shows white box background ?

i have made a character in photoshop when i upload into the library it still has a white background so when i place it onto the scene it is a box with the character if i do multiple or opaque its not the affect i want i want just an outline for the character how can i do this ??? i used photoshop to make the character

What is your graphic format?
It's should be png

when you make an image the first thing you do is make the background transparent which will remove anything but the image you are drawing/making.
after you finish your graphic design save it as a png format

ok thanks....i did save image as png but you mention make it transparent how do i do that in photoshop the background is white ??
