GameSalad launch screen

Hey guys,

I feel real stupid asking this I'm sure the answer is right in front of me but i cant see it. When i watch tutorials online i often see people opening up GameSalad to a menu that is different then mine.

when I open Gamesalad my screen looks like this


Is there anything I'm missing out on here? I read about people saying oh so and so is available in the new section of game salad. I cant find any new section when it is all new to me haha.

At the moment I'm on version 0.10.4.1

the Top is the old Gamesalad bottom current one.

Remember many of the cookbook video are over two years old. Most of my videos were made in the last year and are the most current available.

Ok so when people say open Gamesalad and click on "new" and type in the search bar to find their demo are they talking about this window that pops up? This is an example

the plugin is no more. Everything you can play in the arcade is now html5. Which means if its asking you to install the plugin to use, it cant be played and the uploader has to update it with a html5 version. You can however search for it in the new section of the gamesalad creator, and if the uploader made the project downloadable you can open the project and view it, play it, ect from the creator.

I know I'm living in the past, I must seem real stupid to some people haha.

Yeah that type of search is no longer possible. If you look close at the old splash screen there is a search box in the top left corner. That search used to search templates that users made 'public'. In the most current splash screen there is no longer a search box.

It's not stupid, when you're a new user watching old videos how can you know yet what is old and what is new.

You may already be aware, but it's worth stating for some new users who may not, that the Windows version looks completely different. There are also loads of subtle differences in the program interface.

Thanks guys for clearing that up! I thought there was a little piece of gamesalad I was missing out on. Is there any reason why game of the month isn't updated in the games section of gamesalad.com It's been saying zombi drop is the game of the month for like 6 months now.
