Kickstarter is risky without big and good project i dont wanna miss my chance with kickstarter. If i got very good project i will start kickstarter but if not i will save my personel money and use it.
I would imagine most people here don't require funding, especially if they're working on their own games. Apart from time, and the different license fees it doesn't cost me a thing.

I think he means to buy in design elements, artwork, animations, music, sound FX . . . etc.
But generally speaking I'd agree with you in that the majority of games don't need any funding at all, I think you'd have to be doing something pretty large scale to warrant a Kickstarter campaign.

Everything I make, either from project help or actual funds from app units sold, goes into a business account. A portion of that amount I use for my own personal purchases, but the majority stays in there for future game needs like art, music and sound.
I think it's important to treat this as a business, rather than a "I get all money that comes in and I can spend it on all that I want."
I'm currently doing graphics for other peoples apps full time. Any spare time goes on my own app projects. I don't require funding for my own projects as I do everything on them.
I am partnered with @RP he does the art and I do the coding? we design the games together. We both have media backgrounds so we do our own videos, music, FX and motion graphics. We don't use outside help for anything so we only invest time and no money in our games. We mostly spend money on the latest software which can get pricey for stuff like final cut, logic, motion, photoshop et.. So really our yealrly productions costs are GS Pro $300, Apple $100 and that's about it.
Nobody sensible would invest in a GameSalad game for obvious reasons. No control over the coding, too dependent on GameSalad, no ability to add external SDKs. GameSalad is mainly for indie developers and amateurs. You definitely couldn't build anything other than a small app business out of GameSalad based on today's limitations.
If you ever need an extra person on the team I've pulled off a few successful heists in GTA V.

Baloney!!! Anyone with some good sense and understanding of GameSalad can make GameSalad do nearly everything they want it to do.
If you know what your doing then GameSalad is great. If you don't then your probably bashing GameSalad as an amateur tool any chance you get.
Now as far as funding question. I just use my own money when it's needed my yearly stuff gets covered in the sales revenue I get off apps.
@tenrdrmer show me a startup that has 10+ full time professional employees using GameSalad and I'll agree with you. If you look at Unity, tons of companies use that. And to your other part of gs can do everything they want it too --- No external sdks, no server support, control. Gs can't do everything. They can do the actual 2d game, thats about it. No fluff or polishing features can be added.
For the question - I use my own money from various ventures to fund development and marketing.
We are planning a raid in late December if you want to get involved, the details aren't yet finalized, but we'll be breaking into a Software development house in Austin Texas, hacking directly into their computer system and inserting some malicious code that allows the use of on-screen guides, step-and-repeat, drag-select and several other basic functionality tools, we need to be in and out in less than 2 hours (+15 minute coffee break).
I prefer to sucker GS users to make my games for me by posing as a big developer looking for a "sucker" I mean great programmer to build and publish my countless games. I tell them how awesome they are and they line right up. Then poof I vanish with my loot of crappy games to flood the AppStore with using screenshots from other games. Easy beans and I never have to leave the house.
