pixel art - expanding??? (photoshop)

so when making pixel art... Do the same rules apply? like making it double the size that you want it to be in game salad.

example i want my art in game salad 20 pixels wide x 40 pixels high... so in photoshop i do 40 wide and 80 high. but then the problem is if i want to do a larger pixel drawing... its not as pixeled as this.

so do i just draw it in photoshop in smaller dimensions like 20x20.. and then just expand it to whatever size i want in game salad? or will this cause bad resolution and get denied by apple?

As an overall rule, to create art for iOS devices you want to create it at twice the size you need it in game. Just like you outlined above.

You'll still need to follow this for pixel art, but what you'll want to do is not actually create your art pixels at 1 pixel size. Since as you no doubt are aware its going to be too small. What I would do in Photoshop is create a new brush that is maybe 3 or 4 pixels (you'll have to determine what size is right for you) and use that brush to paint the large pixels in your art.

    Hope that makes sense.

Hey there! Ok, so what you need to be doing is when you go to change the image size in photoshop, you MUST change bicubic to nearest neighbor (preserve hard edges) under the resample settings.
