building a simple slideshow

I am trying to build what could simply be described as a slideshow and I have some pretty simple questions.

It will be about 30 images and 30 quotes. A total of 60 slides. When you touch the screen, it goes to the next slide. Pic, quote, pic, quote and so on.

1. What format and resolution do the images I create need to be in for the cleanest, high quality? (I created 300 DPI Jpgs and the text looks horrible)

2. How do I make a single touch the action to go to the next slide?

    Here's a basic Slideshow example:

Another method would be to have lots of separate [Scenes] with the [Next] and [Previous] buttons using the Change Scene Behavior.

Also, you should make sure your images are 72dpi and PNG format.
