Amount of decimal places in table cells, how to change?

Hi, I've been copying numbers, some with as much as 8 or 9 decimal places and when pasted into table cells, the numbers round up to a max. of 3 decimal places.

So my question: is this the way it is with GSC tables, with nothing that can be done, or is there a way around this problem? (Maybe importing a CSV file keeps the longer decimal places, does anyone know? I haven't tested that one…)

    Not needed to do that but I needed more than a 999 rows in my table today and could only do that by importing a csv file with 1000's of rows, so it might work.

    @KevinCross Thanks for your swift answer, Kevin… so yes, worth a try then… I'll try out via a CSV file into a table tonight (or tomorrow, if I fall asleep at my computer tonight…) to see if the decimal places past 3 are preserved or not.

    Cheers, and I'll report back when I've done it. :-)

    Just for the record, I didn't get around to testing with an imported CSV file… (partly because my father-in-law invited me to a Real Ale Festival today…. I said: oh, OK, if I must….)

    Anyhow, I've decided that 3 decimal places is good enough for my Mega Conversion Calculators Deluxe app… which was meant to have been finished yesterday… but wasn't… and won't be for another few days now… :-w :-)

    If anyone does know, or test more than 3 decimal places importing into GSC tables before I do, I'd still be interested to know, thanks.

    For the record, I've just imported a CSV file into a GSC Table… result is, maximum of 3 decimal places showing only (and is rounded up)…..

    :o3 #-o :-S :(( 8-X

    @gyroscope

    You placed a real ale festival ahead of a day wresting with CSV files !? Weird. ;)

    Have you tried moving the decimal place . . . .?

    Like this:

    Instead of having 172.82798 (which becomes 172.827)
    You could have 17282798 - and stick a /100,000 at the point in your rules where you extract the value from the table.

    Something like that ?

    I know, weird indeed! (There was a couple of slightly-weird tasting ales yesterday too… >-) )

    D'oh!! :\"> Thanks, @Socks, or rather, but of course, Holmes… :-) (No, I don't know what that's referring too either…)
