Techniques for making money from your app????

Is it possible with gamesalad to make your app free but let players have the option to buy levels or power ups later on in the game? Or is the only way to make money from it just having the player pay to install it?

Im sorry but did you even research this topic before posting. i mean we have had in app purchases for almost 2 years now.
