Kindle Fire HDX infinite sound loop issue

artfishartfish Member, PRO Posts: 369
I just received this review on Amazon...

"Just purchased and downloaded this to my Kindle Fire HDX. I don't know if it is due to the new Kindle Fire HDX operating system or what, but I have a serious bug with this game. Once the game is launched it begins a sound "loop" that does not stop until I shut down the tablet and reboot. Even if I launch a different app the sound loop continues."

Has anyone else encountered this? Any work arounds?

Thanks!

    An Amazon App Store rep sent me this email today about a sound problem with my
    popular toddler app appearing only on the new Kindle Fire's...This was what they had to say:
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    First, thank you for making your app available to Kindle Fire customers. We're pleased that our customers are able to download and enjoy your app via the Amazon Appstore. We wanted to offer you the opportunity to address an issue affecting our mutual customers.

    As I'm sure you know we've recently launched updated Kindle Fire tablets. As part of our launch process we've conducted a series of compatibility tests on your apps on these new devices and have noted that your app is encountering an issue with support for Adobe Air. With this particular issue, your app is not working correctly due to Adobe Air being the wrong version or missing from the app which means that the customer experience with your app is being negatively impacted.

    Affected App: Cutie Mini Monsters - Counting Numbers 1-10 (Audio Issue)

    Issue Details: New-gen devices: 1.Install 2.Launch 3.Tap on Read it myself--Distorted sounds(clubbed/overlapping sounds)

    The good news is that we believe we have a good idea of the possible cause and best-practice guidance for how to address this. The most likely cause is that the Adobe Air runtime is not included on the device platform, nor is it downloadable from the Amazon Appstore for the Kindle Fire tablets. You can fix this by building your AIR based application with the Captive Runtime (the default setting as of AIR 3.7). You can find additional guidance on how to include the AIR runtime with your android application from Adobe.

    Please respond to this e-mail with a date by which you expect to have an updated build of your app submitted to the Appstore. If you have technical questions please send them to kindle-developer-support@amazon.com. We look forward to making your updated app available to customers.

    Regards,
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    So I'm not sure what to do as I don't own the new Kindle Fire for testing @BlackCloakGS
    Any ideas people?

    Let me check with @codewizard in the morning. I think he may have fixed this issue a few days ago. We have some new Kindles in the office so if you guys want to open a support ticket CS can help get this issue addressed. Also it has nothing to do with Adobe air we don't use that.

    So, when will this fix make it out of a nightly build and into a stable release?

    Is this fix now in the stable release when publishing?

    @BlackCloakGS - I'll ask again:

    Is this fix now in the stable release when publishing?

    0.11 is the next stable release, and it's still in test, so the answer would be no, but have you tried testing with any of the RC's or nightlies to verify this fixes your issue?

    Cheers dgackey,
    No I haven't updated from the current stable build because of other issues which seem to be causing people problems in the RC's and nightlies.

    I think i'll just pull the game from the Amazon store for now and wait for 0.11 to be released.

    Thanks

    @dgackey, @codewizard, @BlackCloakGS,
    Could someone confirm if this is now fixed in the current Release Candidate?

    I don't own a Kindle HDX so can't test myself - and am eager to get this issue fixed with my existing games

    I believe this is an old issue and no longer a problem. I've published games to Amazon since and had no issues reported.
