need help with windows gamesalad update?

hello i know that a while ago there was a windows gamesalad update but it just says gamesalad is up to date (note i downloaded gamesalad in like june and have not updated since then because gamesalad says i dont need to) so my question is do i delete gamesalad off my computer then redownload it? like if i do that will all my gamesalad project files stay?
