right and left platform moving style problem

Hi everyone
I have a little big problem with my game.
I decided at the last minute to place the buttons to choose the direction.
The game is Aliens Conquerors style in a size portrait iphone.
I saw a toutorial but the problem is that when I don't push the buttons the player accelerates to the right. how can I stop it?
