I'm pleased to announce the New Half Baked Productions Website www.half-baked-productions.com!

As I recently took a course over the summer on HTML and CSS, and am now fluent in both languages, I decided to move out of Weebly and in to pure HTML! With the help of a bootstrap template, I completed my website, and it is now live!

Now, all I have to do is boost up the SEO and redirect all pages on all my old website to my new one.

Happy Thanksgiving,
HBP

    I don't mean to be overly critical here but I kinda cringe at the thought of "half-baked" and "made by kids for kids" in the same context...

    Don't get me wrong the site looks good.

    I just made my site, bathrobegames.webs.com , but now it is put to shame by your awesome site. I have done some html before, so I may try to make one myself. Who hosts your site?

    Hi @brickamator nowadays you don't really need HTML in the main with so many companies offering web hosting and tons of ready-made templates which you can amend to make it more of your own. My website is a case in point, based on a template but slowly being amended/changed away from it; I use Wix. Sometimes you can add a whole chunk of HTML to a site with a so-called snippet, widget, or whatever that particular site calls their field for putting in the ready-made HTML.

    **bump**

    I know, I just like doing things myself. I used to host my own minecraft server because it is fun and so I could do it myself.

    Cool, I can't argue with that. :-) B-)

    @Brickamator, One man teams unite :D

    By the way, GoDaddy hosts my site, and I use FileZilla as my FTP Client

    @Gyroscope, Thanks!

    @Tenrdrmer, I appreciate the honesty :)

    Thanks for your support!

    Looking good :)

    I build websites as part of my business and can hand code everything I need to and do a bit of technical integration.

    But I have been using SquareSpace for some clients lately as you get a massive amount of benefit from a platform like that.

    Check that out here... http://www.squarespace.com/feature-index/

    I will be using it for the websites for my games.

    My own site is built by hand... http://www.mata.co.nz/

    It's a few years old now, but still ok, I think I will move to a service like SquareSpace some time however as mobile becomes more prevalent it gives me the option to have an automatically made responsive and mobile site.

    The issue with Bootstrap is a lot the sites look the same - it's harder to customise building big sites but it's a great out of the box solution :D

    Also have a look at purecss.io

    You are doing real well for a young one, congrats!

    Cheers, M@

    EDIT: For some reason, I can't reattach the screenshot. I'll just attach it on a new post.

    Not a huge fan of the name.. Great site tho but scrolling vertically??? I think it'd look better if it always scrolled horizontally but those are just my opinions.. Nice job regardless

    edit- I see that it scrolls vertical if you hit the top buttons...

    Don't almost all websites scroll vertically? @TouchiMedia

    Yes but rarely both? I guess the front (top) page where you can scroll left and right kind of throws me off.

    I don't know maybe it's the overall design of the layout makes me feel like it should be scrolling left and right to follow the top part. It's well made no doubt, but my initial instincts when loading site for first time is to keep scrolling right for whatever reason! :)

    Oh, you mean the slideshow on the top. I'll try and see what I can do.

    Thanks for the insight :)

    a little helpful advice if interested, try shrinking the site down a little its all very large and you have to scroll a lot to view the whole index page this is bad technique for usability and will deter users. looking good tho but honest too large ( mac on safari)

    best practice is to try fit most info within the one screen size near top as to not lose attention when searching the site.

    usesr be lazy ;)
