edited November -1 in Working with GS (Mac)
Hi everyone,

With the gamesalad viewer, it claims its going to put my project into my iPhone. All it does is start it in the simulator. I want it on my iphone!!!!! please! I need to test it on my iPhone, if it means I have to buy the apple developers program (I know I have to anyway) then whats the point of making this??

And my dad says he is not buying it untill i produce something that works. HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO TELL IF IT WORKS IF I CANT GET IT TO WORK ON MY IPHONE!!!!!

ok thanks

Cheers, Dragokillz

To test it on the iphone you will need to buy the Apple Dev kit which is $99. You will then have to create Provision certificates that will allow you to build the Game Salad Viewer and put it on your iphone. From there you can then test directly from GS to the iphone by launch the app.

If your dad will not pay for the Apple Dev kit until you have developed something, then its not a problem, you can still test it by using the web preview feature, all your finger touches will simply be mouse clicks, so its a good way to test and doesn't cost a penny!

    Good luck

Yeah, unfortunately, if you want to test anything on an actual device, you will need the Apple iPhone Dev Account as well.

You could always post your entire game project as a template and ask someone with the licenses to compile and submit it to apple as a free game and then download it yourself from the app store. A bit convoluted, but workable. Then when you see it works, you can get your own licenses.

I really really really really really really recommend you test on a device before sending to apple.

I don't know if it's accepted to talk about it on here...
You could always jailbreak your iphone, setup a fake dev cert in xcode and build it for your iphone that way. Obviously you need to get a GS license first.

I 100% know it will work, but is it worth the effort (it really is a lot of effort!). I doubt it, the $100 on an apple cert is worth it as you can't submit to the app store without an official dev cert.

Can't you wash some cars or cut some lawn to earn the money from your dad?
