Problem on Kindle Fire HD and displaying a date

HI Guys,
I'm building a count down app for my niece and I've found a great formula on the boards to get the difference between two dates and it works great while developing but as soon as i put it on the kindle its adds 30 extra days. Has anyone else found this? any clue on how to fix it besides manually subtracting 30 day.
