Brand new and completely lost

Hey, everyone. I just downloaded GameSalad, and I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. (Great introduction, I know.) I'm using GameSalad on a PC, and there's something odd happening; whatever I do, the Game Editor screen (http://cookbook.gamesalad.com/system/images/BAhbB1sHOgZmIiwyMDExLzEyLzEyLzE1XzM2XzE0XzkzOF9nYW1lX2VkaXRvci5qcGdbCDoGcDoKdGh1bWIiDTQ1MHg0NTA+/game editor.jpg) won't show up. I can't change the title of the game, I can't change the platform, nothing, and in all the tutorials I've seen, it just pops up. I have no idea what's going on at all. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

For one thing, that's a Mac screenshot. If you're using the Windows version of GameSalad Creator, you're going to find that many of the templates and tutorials are designed for the Mac version. That's not to say that Windows templates can't be opened on a Mac (they can) nor that the general logic of Mac videos can't be applied to the Windows version (it can) but it's a little more work.

If you Google windows tutorial gamesalad you'll be on your way.

@jamie_c also has a Mac/Windows comparison video that you might find helpful: http://www.jamie-cross.net/?page_id=48.

I had the same problem because I to use the windows version. To change your project name and platform you would go to File than new where you can change what your games name is. Most templates are MAC only so idk how to really help you there.
