Character movement according to mouse cursor

Hi guys,

I pretty much just started using GameSalad, so I have some questions.
I am trying to build a top down shooter.
I already made the character walk towards to mouse cursor and rotate to it's position.
The character can also shoot bullets towards the mouse cursor.
What I need no is to make the character walk left and right according to the mouse cursor.
So the character would pretty much circle the cursor.

Any ideas? Please help!

Thanks!!!
J

You mentioned that you already made the character walk towards the mouse position. Doesn't that include the ability for the character to walk left and right? If the character is directly to the left of the mouse position won't it then walk to the right?

And what do you mean by this? Can you provide a sketch or screenshot (see my signature for instructions)?
So the character would pretty much circle the cursor.

@MrVanili Thanks for the additional explanation:
By "So the character would pretty much circle the cursor."
I meant, that when press "Right", the player should move around the mouse cursor, clockwise in 360°, and when I press "Left, the other way around.

I use "Up" and "Down" to move towards mouse cursor position.

Another way I would like to do it would be via on screen controls, so that you would move the character with the left stick and the right stick would be to fire in direction, the stick is pointing at.
Can I use a joypad to move left and right stick?
I recommend checking out the OFFICIAL cross-platform controller template that comes with GameSalad. It's under the "Create a New Project heading when you first open GameSalad Creator."
