Actors not appearing on the quick preview

in Working with GS (Mac)
I'm trying to test my game by hitting the quick preview button (The white play button, I don't know if quick preview is what it's called or not) and all the actors are either completely transparent, black, or gone. This doesn't happen when I hit the green preview button though. I tried closing and reopening Gamesalad, but still nothing. Does anyone know what it is?

    I could be wrong but it seems like the white play and pause buttons no longer work in the current version. I used to use them quite a bit but I've gotten out of practice because of these issues.
