Breaking the 4th wall (random topic)

Does anyone else find it hilarious when a game just breaks the 4th wall and talks directly to the player?

I've been playing through the whole Metal gear series and there's a ton of funny moments were a character ingame might tell me to change my controller, to put my controller on the floor or just turn off my system completely.

Basically, There's a boss in Metal gear solid 1 who can read your controllers actions and he uses that to dodge every attack you use on him, so the solution is to change your controller to port 2 (MGS1 was on playstation 1). I played metal gear solid 4 and the same boss appears eventually. This time, I immediately changed my controller to number 2 and then got a call from one of my guys back at base, wondering why I couldn't move. It was then that he asked the me as the actual player, not the character the player controls, if I had switched my controller to port 2, thinking it'd work like last time and I was kinda chuckling as if he was actually talking to me.

It's the same when he told me to put my controller on the floor and he said he'd move it with his mind, so I put it down and suddenly it started vibrating...

I seriously believe they were the funniest moments of the entire game. Has anyone else had stupidly funny experiences like this?
