How to make an app full size on Kindle Fire?

Hello all,

After making a game 1280x800 , the correct size for a kindle app, once i publish it and test it on my Kindle - its all squished, and using letterbox it crops off the tops. I was told by several members that you make you scene size and camera size to 1280x800 and it will work fine. I am not getting this results. How do i make a game be full screen on Kindle Fire and above devices?

Thanks

Its probably your artwork. This needs to be suited to your screen size as well. Can you take a screenshot

I am using Kindle as my project type, @jonmulcahy

My artwork was redesign to fit the 1580x800 size, and fits perfectly while in the scene.

Using crop - will cut off the top and button

using letterbox - will have bars down the side, they are the same colour as my background.

It doesn't look half bad using letterbox, it just means i need to resize everything to GS kindle project default size if i can't make it full screen.

You're going about this all wrong. Here is how you do it. Start with a regular kindle size scene. All art should be designed in that space. Now look at it in crop mode it will cut off parts of the scene. Expand the camera area to reveal what is cut off. You will need to offset the camera origin as the camera expands evenly. So for example if 50pixels are being cut off on the y axis expand the camera's y by 50 then offset the origin on the y by 25. You need to keep looking at this in crop mode. As you are adjusting based on the crop effect.

    Hello all,

I still can't seem to understand what you are suggesting, i gave it a few attempts but its not working. Could you provide a demo of what the screen size should be so i can understand further.

    Thanks

This only works in the Mac version of GS. Windows doesnt have a crop mode. I've had no issues using the methods I have sent you.

You need to make sure that your background is around 2560x1600 and then scaled to fit 1280x800. Post some screenshots so we can actually see what the problem is
