Despite of all bugs, unfinished builds, strange interfaces, being "beta" for years, irritating workflows, etc
I have made my decision and have nominated my candidate for the "Most annoying thing in GS - Award":

The Expression editior

I can't believe that we have to live with that for years.
How can the guy who is responsible for this piece of crap go home in the evening and say: "Today I have done a good job"???

Seriously, if you want to do some sophisticated calculations in GS, it is the biggest pain in the ass I can imaging...
Not to speak of making changes in an existing expression. Why could the enter-key not finish the editor? Why have I scroll to the end to press the green button? (That will take up to two minutes in large calculations...), etc

I have attached a screenshot of an average calculation as reason for the nomination...

    Ya know...even the space shuttle is a continuous experiment..it was never finished.

    My relationship with GameSalad is such a love-hate one. I love it and how easy it makes so many things. But they slowness of the interface and general unfriendliness of the attribute picker are my biggest gripes. Throughout the app there are so many niggling annoyances, but I'm willing to keep putting up with them due to the positive steps the GameSalad team seem to be taking and the impressive regularity of communication we get from a wide range of the team in the forums. I believe they are aware of the issues and are actively working to fix them... even if we're going to still have to wait a while :D

    @slowcut Your post is bordering on flaming. Really, if you think GSC is such a pile of crap why are you still using it? It sure has quite a few shortcomings but it sure as hell has many positive aspects far outweighing those.

    What does that image even mean? What sort of average calculation is going on there?

    Finally, no one should stop free opinion about GSC, even comments that appear negative if they are constructive criticisms/arguments, etc. But to coin "Most annoying thing in GS - Award" doesn't help anyone, and to precede this in your thread title with "Introducing the annual" is far from clever.

    I agree. GameSalad has some way to go before it is absolutely perfect, but then again, nothing is ever perfect.

    There are better ways to get your point across than posting some of the things in this thread. This is not constructive, nor helpful to anyone. Constructive criticism is one thing, but bashing is another.

    If you want to get your point across, try posting without the "Award" and the "How can the guy who is responsible for this piece of crap go home in the evening" part. Everything else you said was fine, until that point.
