How to video for thumbstick style directional input?

I've learned a lot the past week and even managed to make a character select screen on my own in Game Salad, with changing portraits and everything.
But before I try to hard study the sample game with all the different directional inputs, I wanted to know if theres already a how to video showing how it could be implemented?
My game right now just has a simple left/right input and a jump button. I have a second button for attack, but I also plan to make it so that if you hold down on it, your character holds their attack, and a multi directional input interface appears while holding the attack button to allow you to aim your attack in any direction.
I have another on how to approach melee attack implementation, but I haven't really searched for it, so I'll research that before asking about it here.

I was hoping to figure out how to make the thumbstick from scratch as when I try to see the formula used for the constrain attributes parts in the official cross platform project, it's partially hidden. I've seen in videos that hovering the mouse over it causes the entire thing to appear, but it doesn't work for me, unless you go into attribute editor and press right to scroll through the formula, which is very inconvenient. Is it because its the windows version?
