How to video for thumbstick style directional input?

I've learned a lot the past week and even managed to make a character select screen on my own in Game Salad, with changing portraits and everything.

But before I try to hard study the sample game with all the different directional inputs, I wanted to know if theres already a how to video showing how it could be implemented?

My game right now just has a simple left/right input and a jump button. I have a second button for attack, but I also plan to make it so that if you hold down on it, your character holds their attack, and a multi directional input interface appears while holding the attack button to allow you to aim your attack in any direction.

I have another on how to approach melee attack implementation, but I haven't really searched for it, so I'll research that before asking about it here.

when you open game salad on its own it had a list of gs projects on the left open the official cross platformed app at the bottom on the left and that should help just copy the actors attributes ect

or even better @deep blue apps make a project merger its only bout 10 quid but so so worth it

and merge the two projects saves so much time

I agree with zyptek. Crossplatform has 5 scenes to choose from. Pick the one you like....i use the thumbstick scene...delete the others and their associated actors...use the oroject merger if you have an existing project...i struggled so long with stupid left right buttons until I learned this method and now....I can move in to other things to figure out. Im about 6 months into GS and have learned more than I thought I could using the forums and youtube videos in the cookbook.

    Goodluck.

Ah, thanks. I'm on the windows version, will this make the merger difficult? I've already got a lot done on my game so I hope nothing breaks or glitches.

I was hoping to figure out how to make the thumbstick from scratch as when I try to see the formula used for the constrain attributes parts in the official cross platform project, it's partially hidden. I've seen in videos that hovering the mouse over it causes the entire thing to appear, but it doesn't work for me, unless you go into attribute editor and press right to scroll through the formula, which is very inconvenient. Is it because its the windows version?

IDK...but if you look at the thumb stick in the cross platform template....and are like me....you suddenly become 100 point less in IQ and start figuring out another way around it....I have tried to build one...even copying what I see in the CP template and I'm just to noob. Wether the merger works on PC or not I have no idea.
