Pool resources to hire GS to implement a plugin system? (create our own actions)

I wanted to put a post out here to see firstly if anyone would be interested, and secondly if the Game Salad crew would take us up on it.

Interested in what?

Initially I was going to propose pooling our money to hire the GS team to do some custom work to put in support for http requests (allowing for online scores) and/or some functionality to make in app purchases.

The first one especially is probably GS's biggest downside right now. Not being able to communicate outside the device puts a huge cap on the potential for GS games.

The second one is not really essential, but would be nice to have for additional revenue opportunities for devs.

I have been putting off getting my $1,000 membership because of the lack of http.

But after a bit more thought, I realised that what would be even better would be to hire them to implement a plugin system so that those of us with coding inclinations can extend GS to do things like http calls ourselves, and more efficient AI's or whatever we wanted.

The ability to code and add our own actions would be invaluable. I come from a background in open source CMSes, where there is a prolific market for 3PD plugins to extend the core toolset. Many of these CMSes - Drupal, Joomla and Wordpress for example, owe the majority of their success to the size of their 3pd plugin market.

If GS allowed for custom action plugins, then overnight we would be able to start implementing features on our own, easing the pressure to perform and make rapid feature releases on the GS team.

I could also see this greatly increasing the popularity of GS, as missing features that are holding people back could be added, and thus for the GS team this would mean more members and more memberships and thus more $$$ ;-)

What are people's thoughts?
