hey all,

I am selling my 3 games on apptopia.com for only $500 (apptopia's minimum)
I am talking about the apps.
Cookie Crusher:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cookie-crusher!/id792426895?l=nl&ls=1&mt=8
Star Crusher:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/star-crusher/id792405890?l=nl&ls=1&mt=8
and
Tank Traitor:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tank-traitor/id796475268?l=nl&ls=1&mt=8

I also opened a thread about Tank Traitor: (with video and everything)
http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/63408/tank-traitor-now-in-app-store-for-free-download-now#latest

Here you can see my listing on apptopia: https://www.apptopia.com/listings/6294-3-games-1400-downloads-in-a-few-days-and-will-be-more
when you buy it via apptopia you also get the downloads and everything! when you click the link above you can see the amount of downloads and everything else.

when you buy it you also get the gamesalad file so you also can use it for other games.
Hope someone is interesting and if you have questions you can PM me.

thanks,
-Timo-

those first two look like tshirtbooth's old star smashers template, if they are you don't have the rights to sell them i think.

    @slowcut thanks, I think...

@jonmulcahy Yes, I did use that template but I changed and added some things. doesn't this make it a different app and does gives me rights to sell? not sure though...

Nope, sorry. Can't resell a template, unless you have *completely* changed it, to the point where none of the original pieces are still in place.

I won't give my personal opinion on selling apps, since it's not my place to do so. I will however wish you luck with selling them, no matter what made you decide to do so.

There's no law against buying a template from someone here, modifying it, and trying to sell it for ten times the amount (it seems @tshirtbooth originally sold it for $40; http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/20889/-star-smasher-template-by-tshirtbooth-).

But I think you'll find a surge of resentment from forum members that you've done this. Especially since I can't visually see any differences between the template and your Star Crusher app. Have you added a significant amount of work (e.g. features, graphics, sounds, levels) to justify the $500 price tag? And yes, I realize you're selling three apps and not just one... I'm just ballparking the pricing.

You may legally be allowed to sell them since you changed the original templates but it is still very very looked down upon here.

Aside from that. I'm pretty sure these types if threads are not allowed on the forums. Same as people are not allowed to advertise and sell templates in the forums.

    Closing this.

Are you sure about that? I suppose I could be wrong, because I suppose you're allowed to charge for it on the app store, and that would be monetizing it.

    I take it back! :D

@tatiang so I am allowed to sell it?

I changed the art and stuff in both and changed the speed and spawn time and everything. also added a highscore which will be saved and loaded.

I am also willing to sell it for less then $500 but that's the minimum of Apptopia.

@tendrmer not allowed to place this on the forum? Oh, sorry didn't knew...

sorry if I am doing something wrong. I am only 15 years and not doing this really long so I still don't know what is allowed and what not. sorry if I did something that's not allowed.

@timolapre1998 you have to check with the seller of your purchased templates if you have the rights to sell it.

To be honest, changing speed and saving a highscore is not a big change...

But you have followed the first rule of a good business man: Buy low, sell high

@timolapre1998 This is what I was getting at:
You may legally be allowed to sell them since you changed the original templates but it is still very very looked down upon here.
I'm not a lawyer so it's just my opinion that it's not illegal but I think the bigger issue is intent and ethics. And that's where I have a problem. Just changing a couple of minor things and re-selling someone's template is seen as stealing at worst or misrepresenting at best. It may not be stealing but it's seen that way, so you may want to rethink how you go about selling your work.

The bottom line is that people who make and sell templates for GameSalad expect you to use their work as a framework for your own game, not to sell their template as if it was your own design.

Since this is still open does that mean people can list there games here?

@BazookaTime, I specifically left this open because I wanted to give @timolapre1998 a chance to respond, and I'm glad he did.

The forum rules prohibit the sale of items. There are venues, such as the Marketplace, GShelper.com, and DeepBlueApps.com (among others) for selling templates, apps, graphics, music, etc.
