I always start with iPad (see our free Santa go! Template on DBA) while there are various techniques I would recommend the default settings crop/overscan if you manipulate the camera it won't work for all games (I did this for Little Viking btw) and if you use stretch to fit (pro only) it skews the art, if you use the default you lose some of the scene more noticeable on iphone 5.

At the end of the day use a method that suits you and your game.

Yep, just add Darren says, use the method that you like best. They're are several methods, one o of which can be found in my free tutorial section on GSHelper (see my signature)

Clickon my signature and download the universal projects. That'll give you information on how to get existing projects to work universally.

I've tried doing this from ipad template (1024x768) -landscape, and tested on iphone 5.. Not quite as cut n dry… it does a fairly good job at maintaining everything in screen.. but noticed the top and bottom are cropped by about 100 pixels no matter if I change camera size - but horizontally it fits , kinda strange ??

Only way to fix is to change camera origin to like -100 for y but that screws up the iPad view.. and only fixes the bottom part being cropped, not top.. Will have to check the tutorials but still sorting out some other things..
