How to create a screen shot?

Hello, I have created a game and I would like to know if it is possible to copy a scene from my game so that I can create a screenshot for publication. Thanks!

    Hi @PandaParents

    The following is for the Mac version of GSC, I don't know if the Windows version is the same...

    When you are in Preview mode, when you want to get a screenshot, click on the camera icon top right. Then you'll be given options: save the screenshot, set the shot as the project screenshot, and/or scene the screenshot for the scene.

    Another way - again on a Mac - is to check in your Utilities folder if you don't know about the program called Grab. Open that and you're given different options for screen grabs.

    Finally, you can press Command+Shift+4 to get a screen grab of the complete screen; obviously you'll then need to crop it in something like Photoshop.

    Here's an online article detailing those options and more, if you're interested to learn more:

    @gyroscope

    Although if you take a screenshot on your computer - and the game is Retina - it will be (comparatively) low-resoltion, might be better to take a screenshot on your iPad/iPhone/Android.

    Good point, @Socks; I guess it depends on the size required... sometimes it might be OK for screenshots in iTunes Connect, for instance, as you know.

    Ah ! Yes, of course, I missed the 'publication' bit in his post, I was just thinking best quality, but yeah I take your point.

    It would be good if GameSalad has a screenshot function that referenced the high-resolution files and gave you (in the case of a Retina iPad project) a 2048 x 1536 pixel image even when taking a screen shot on your computer.

    Thank you both! The camera function in preview mode worked on windows too. I just don't know if the resolution is good enough. Is it possible to preview my game on ipad before I publish it?
